MTS sees market of long-term devices rental at 15 bln rbl by 2027
MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- The Russian market of the device-as-a-service (DaaS) option, a long-term rental of devices, such as smartphones and laptops, may jump to over 15 billion rubles by 2027 from 900 million rubles in 2022, digital ecosystem MTS said on Thursday in a statement quoting its center MTS StartUp Hub.
“The main growth drivers for the DaaS model will be higher electronics prices, a low monthly subscription fee, flexibility of the subscription model (thanks to the possibility of cancelling it at any moment),” MTS said.
The devices should not be all new, some of them will be restored, because companies earn most on second-hand devices in the DaaS model.
“This means the market’s growth will be impossible without the emergence of large service companies that will ensure a stable flow of refurbished devices for its further rent under subscription,” the analysts said.
